RCK Chemicals polymers fall into different categories depending on their composition:
- Carboxymethyl cellulose, which may act both as aids to improve Kymene resin fixing or as additives in pulps to add mechanical strength to the paper
- Functionalised vegetable derivatives that act in the pulp to improve the mechanical strength of the paper
- Cationic and anionic synthetic polymers added during the wet phase, also designed to increase the mechanical strength of the paper, and may also work in synergy with other paper additives
